Niko Husky
Niko Husky, nacido en 2019, simboliza la valentía y la lealtad. Su origen se remonta a 1925, durante la Gran Carrera de la Misericordia en Alaska, cuando 150 huskies siberianos llevaron antitoxina para salvar a la ciudad de Nome. Niko hereda su espíritu, asegurando que las baterías Voniko te acompañen en las tareas más difíciles.
BIRTH OF NIKO
In early 1925, the Great Race of Mercy took place in Alaska. That winter, diphtheria claimed the lives of four children in the city of Nome and threatened another 20,000 inhabitants. The entire city was engulfed in fear and despair.
With no transportation available by sea, air, or land, 20 sled drivers and 150 Siberian huskies bravely took on the mission of delivering diphtheria antitoxin from 674 miles away. The task had to be completed within six days before the antitoxin lost its effectiveness. Through long, dark nights, with no way to navigate, the 150 sled dogs exhibited unmatched courage, loyalty, and endurance, crossing the treacherous Norton Sound and safely delivering the antitoxin to Nome in just five and a half days.
The remaining 20,000 inhabitants were saved. To honor these 150 dogs and their heroic achievement, a bronze statue of a husky was erected in New York’s Central Park.
